Leonard Long was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in the 1993 Australia Day Honours List for his services to art. Born in 1911, he spent his boyhood at Mittagong in the southern highlands of New South Wales. There he grew to appreciate the Australian bush and its "atmosphere". It was the beginning of a deep love that has seen Leonard Long OAM develop into a truly great Australian landscape painter. His distinctive work - in oils - hangs in homes, boardrooms, parliamentary chambers and palaces in Australia and overseas. Still painting full-time and now living in Melbourne, he is currently preparing for his Life's-Work exhibition but still making paintings available for sale by At Home With Art.
